Today I won the World Inline Cup class 1 race in Rennes and Tamara was second. It was fine all morning until about a minute before the womens start, the black clouds closed in and the rain started to fall. It was wet for basically all of the race but ended up drying up for most of the mens race.
Tomorrow we leave Rennes and drive to Holland. We will race at the two Unive World on Wheels events on Wednesday and Thursday and the Unive Skate Off in Heerde on Friday and Saturday.

It seems it was a good choice to change your wheels just before the start !
Yes about 5 minutes before the start I put one rain wheel on the front of each skate because the weather was starting to close in. Everybody else was still on dry weather wheels and then about 2 minutes before the start I felt a drop of rain and decided to change to all wet weather wheels. The inflatable arch at the finish line ended up collapsing just before the start so it gave some of the skaters a couple of extra minutes.
The weather is something you always have to be prepared for, especially at Rennes. So I had my rain wheels ready at the start line with bearings just in case.
